String Cheese
By: THOMAS MORVA

Cheese is a popular dairy product, manufactured in many countries.
Its longevity and shelf life make it a profitable business venture. There are many different types of cheese available on the market. Textures may vary from hard to semi-soft and some cheese may even be mold laden. They may also vary in taste from mildly acidic to sharp and are also available in shades of blue and orange. Cheese also varies depending upon the country it is manufactured in.

String cheese is a popular snack. It is usually sold as rod-shaped blocks of cheese that can be pulled apart to look like string. The most common variety of string cheese is semi-soft mozzarella, which can be pulled into strands and then braided or molded into rods. The original string cheese, which was produced in Syria or Armenia, was mildly saltier, stringier and firmer than the normal semi-soft variety found today. String cheese may be smoked and may also contain flavors such as garlic and onion.

String cheese is popular as it serves the purpose of being a snack food. It can also be consumed as a mini meal. The portability of string cheese has increased the demand for string cheese in recent years.

String cheese is highly processed and consequently has a high salt content. Due to this, it is advisable not to eat large amounts at one time or over a period of time. The processing of string cheese involves pulling the cheese to get it into shape. This method itself allows the formation of strings.

Each string is independently packaged and is available in packs of a specified quantity. Children especially enjoy this variety of cheese as it lets them pull apart each string, reshape it, and then eat it after molding it into their own fun shapes.
